On Admiration
7-19-08 observations while riding the Metro
Real admiration does not mean forsaking all others for one person...it means cherishing, taking delight and pleasure in someone simply because of who they are and treasuring the gift of their friendship...because of such cherishing, one forsakes all others.
Today as I embarked on the metro I saw a couple destined for failure-the male obligingly listening to the female, with a bit of a frown on his face. As they were waiting for the metro to arrive, I noticed that they were BOTH scrolling their Blackberries, not delighting in conversation with one another. It saddened me greatly...now almost to tears. May it never be. May it never be.
