Glimpses of Prescience

I'm starting a two-part art piece this week entitled Glimpses of Prescience. The title will likely change but here's the idea: My plan is to create two large Rauschenberg-esque collages that capture the essence of on the one hand the world that makes me weary, and on the other the world that my soul aches and longs to be fully revealed. I'm still in the idea stage, gathering articles and pictures that i'd like to include, so things could change a bit.

The piece is inspired partially by a book i picked up last weekend called "Off the Wall: A Portrait of Robert Rauschenburg." Simultaneously, i'm hoping to weave some lessons-learned from T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets into the works. I want to create visual poetry that speaks both to what is seen and what is unseen. We'll see how it all pans out, this will likely be a process months in the making. Just thought i'd share for those who might take interest. These are some themes playing heavily on my heart right now, and creating these pieces will be a process of exploring them further, particularly as they relate to culture and humanity.

heart waits on the cusp
quiet aching for new life
can you taste it yet?
