Sustainable Fashion
There is a great article on pg. 48-51 of Paste Magazine on sustainable fashion, which echoes some sentiments I posted several months ago and ended up taking down due to their cynical nature. However, the authors at Paste tow the line between hope and cultural criticism delicately and effectively.
I was thrilled to open the magazine today to find some brands that have crossed my periphery over the past few years, many of which are founded by people who stand on principles of integrity grounded in their worldviews (this theme is worth exploring if you haven't already). For some of these brands, i'm excited for the write-up, as it certainly means good publicity for their good causes. In general, i'm happy to see magazines paying more than a fleeting glance to the issues of how products are made, who is making them, and where the profits end up. Additionally, i'm excited to see that Paste is giving the fashion space a bit more coverage in a very thoughtful way.
I'll post the link once it's up online. Meanwhile, you can check out the Print version.
