Top 10 Music Discoveries of 2008

Brooke Waggoner-simply beautiful music, breathtaking vocals, amazing classical performance and strong rhythms, and solid meaning behind each song
Angus and Julia Stone-soothing vocals coupled with soft melodies
She & Him-yes, that is the girl from "elf"; remixed classic songs stimulate the ears
Katie Herzig-the depth of meaning in Katie's lyrics is astounding; and her voice is sweet like honey
Bon Iver-gribbing sound, unexpected shifts, solid
The Cinematic Orchestra-full, melancholy sound, makes you think
Cold War Kids-on the cusp of hard rock but not quite there; these guys are also amazing live
Fleet Foxes-great for those long car rides in the mountains or afternoon chill-out sessions in warm weather
Vampire Weekend-addictive indie rock tracks; reminds me of late-spring '08
Jose Gonzalez-oh my gosh, where to begin? amazing. i'm addicted to his voice. This may have been late fall '07, I can't really remember.
