So, a new friend gave me a lecture to listen to because she thought it would relate well to my interests in the arts, the built environment, and community development, which it does.

I found a portion not included in the excerpt especially engaging, where Van Pelt discusses the thesis that "politics is downstream from culture" quite eloquently and in a more thorough manner than i've heard from most.

I'm interested to explore more as Cardus rolls out its work over the course of the next several months and years.
